Another 500 drop?

As we move closer to the day of a new leadership in the America, the market have yet again spoken with another ~500 point drop on the DOW, and ~50 point drop on the S&P. I don’t think we have even reach the bottom yet. I still believe that DOW 7500 and S&P 800 is very possible.

Has the market spoken about our New President?

The day after the most historic event ever in American history, and the markets has spoken with RED across the board. DOW closed down almost 500 points, S&P down about 50 points and NASDAQ loosing close to 100. Hmm.. is a coincidence or is it just market dynamics in play? 

I share the sentiment of many that it is a brand new world today and in the coming years and most importantly an election that must not fail!!

Markets like certainty, eg. a specific number or an estimate here and there, but at times it is built on clouds, big huge cloudS and that can just appear and disappear as fast as they are formed. Well it is definitely still to early to call which way we are heading in the next 4 years, but one thing is certain, the dynamics of the game is certainly changing and the market will react accordingly to it.

As for my prediction, in the short term the markets is definitely seeking another bottom, say a DOW 7500 and S&P 800? Only time will tell.

Are we in Crisis Mode?

It has been probably worst day in the financial markets in the post dot com bust era. As I am posting this DOW is down about 650 pts, touching the very fragile 9500 support mark in my opinion, S&P is also testing the 1000 support mark, and in my opinion if any of these 2 indicators were to be breached, it will be a waterfall to about 9000 and change for the DOW and 900 and change for the S&P, I guess.

Hmm… but is Main Street really feeling it? I think it would be several months before the effects hits the main street. So stock up on cash and get ready for a buying spree when the market is flattening out, I would say give it about 6 months or so.

Tip: Recover Frozen Mac Apps from Spinning Wheel

If you have been experiencing the usual beach ball spinning effect on your mac aka frozen app, you maybe able to unfreeze the app and recover whatever you were previously doing.

Solution: Open the Activity Monitor and select the frozen app and in the menu bar select View > Send Signal to Process, you will be presented with a dialog box and from the drop down menu select “Interrupt”. This will nudge the frozen app back to life and happily continue to work

P/s: This will work in most instances, if not the App has crashed and not frozen. Force Quit and Restart

iPhone Apps Crashing Solution

If you experiencing all your iPhone apps crashing suddenly and all your music disappeared, don’t fret, I might have a solution for you till Apple releases the next firmware, which could be anytime soon in Sept as promised.

Don’t worry all your music and apps are still in your iPhone, it is the DRM issue with the Apple servers that is causing this problem. I agree that DRM should be abolish and we will not have to face this issue again.

Solution steps:
* OPTIONAL: perform a sync all in the application tab to back up any new downloaded apps in your broken iPhone (don’t worry your apps you purchased through the iphone are working including those that were deleted by Apple, such as Tris and Netshare, you just need to have a copy of it in iTunes)
* reactivate the authorization in iTunes
* restart iTunes
* connect your iPhone to the computer
* go to your application page to make sure all your purchased apps are there including Tris and Netshare, if not sync all again
* go to application tab located in your iPhone page in iTunes and uncheck sync all, it will prompt you that all your apps on your iPhone will be deleted, click ok (don’t worry), this will take some time
* once finished unplug the iPhone and hard reboot it by holding down the home button and power button until the Apple logo appears
* restart iTunes
* connect your iPhone
* go to application tab and choose the apps you want to sync back to your iPhone
* now all your apps should be working and your music should reappear in the iPod app

How to Create Multiple Gmail Aliases on Single Gmail Account

I was trying to find a way to have a separate password for my PicasaWeb account as I do not like to give out my primary email account to 3rd party uploading apps. However, by messing around in PicasaWeb, I knew that you can change your Gallery URL, which in my opinion is rather useful to prevent spammers from obtaining your actual email address, which could be acquired by adding @gmail.com from your PicasaWeb albums URL. Similar to the issue with MobileMe Galleries.

I realize last night, by creating this, you are basically adding an alias to your primary gmail address too. Therefore, you can then use this new alias account and give it out to whoever you please as you can then create the appropriate filters in your primary gmail account for this alias and so forth. This in my opinion is much safer than the adding a + sign, eg. primaryemail+whatever@g…

To access this feature, go to your Google Account and click on “PicasaWeb Settings” and located “What is your Gallery URL?” and click “add new Google username” and you are set. 

As for the separate password for PicasaWeb, I am still searching and hoping that Google will implement this in the future.

Jott is Out of Beta and starts to charge

Jott is out of beta and has started to charge for the service I knew this day would come as they would have to foot the bill to the greedy teleco companies, somehow or another. It was a fantastic service while it lasted. There is still a free service, but there is no outgoing email or text messaging support for your Jotts. Price start at $3.95 and up per month. I do wish them the very best and thank them for a wonderful free service while it lasted, but for now I will switch to Evernote.

IPhone 2.0.2 is Out

The iPhone 2.0.2 is out and it seems to fix some bugs, hopefully the 3G reception is fix, will see. Netshare is still there and is working
